The week of the 30th International Mining Convention is now here. Many mining executives, service providers, government authorities and other actors within the industry are already beginning to travel towards the internationally-renowned port city and beach resort of Acapulco. Mexico Mining Review is now fresh off the printing press and its dedicated editorial and commercial team has also diligently prepared a series of conferences and activities to commemorate the publication’s maiden edition.
Firstly, the Ministers of Economy of Mexico’s main mining states will join us for a discussion on the relationships between local governments and the Mexican mining industry. These prominent authorities will present the main projects that the governments of Sonora, Chihuahua and Zacatecas have promoted in order to foster the development of mining projects in their respective regions. Among these strategies, the strengthening of ties between the private and public sectors by the means of mining clusters will be emphasized.
Secondly, we will hear from the leading executives of three gold and silver mining companies. Besides presenting their companies’ highlights, they will talk extensively about Mexico’s business environment and delve into the factors that promoted and sustain their investment in the country’s mining industry. They will also divulge their view on the proposed changes to the industry’s fiscal framework and present their strategies to reduce costs at a time when profit margins have to be especially looked after.
Lastly, we will count on the presence of prevalent members and leaders of the Canadian, US and Australian Chambers of Commerce. They will provide our audience with an overview of the participation of their countries in the Mexican mining industry and highlight the contributions of their members to the sector’s chain of value. Several of their affiliates will also accompany this presentation with more information on their products and services.
Much like our book, Mexico Mining Review’s discussion panels, conferences and presentations will touch upon essential topics shaping the path of the country’s mining sector. In order to learn about the perceptions, trends and exclusive insights on these topics directly from the experts, join us on Friday, October 18th at 4:00 pm in Room C6 of the Mundo Imperial Forum. Also, don’t forget to visit our stand for an opportunity to have one of the first copies of Mexico Mining Review 2013.
